TYPES OF AUCTIONS

We offer Standard and Dutch auctions.

Standard and Dutch auctions are designed with an extending bidding system to mimic the "real world" auction style of "going, going, gone" and to provide as many bidders as may desire to participate in the final exciting phases of a popular auction.

STANDARD AUCTIONS

Standard auctions have just one item for sale. If you wish to bid on an item, be sure to note the "start bid" posted on the auction page which will indicate the minimum amount you must bid at that time to win.

Bidding is open until the auction closes, and you are free to submit as many bids as you wish throughout the length of the auction.

By placing your bid you agree you are able and intend to purchase the item should you win.

Each bid submitted will be recorded at the exact time it was received. Should you wish to increase your bid, simply submit your new bid - your earlier bid will be cancelled automatically.

The close date and time of the auction is posted on the auction page. The auction will close at the posted closing time or two minutes after the last bid is received, whichever is later.

DUTCH AUCTIONS

The Dutch auction features more than one identical item for sale, and can have multiple winners.

Each Dutch auction states the number of items available, the minimum bid, the bid increments, and the closing time of the auction.

At the auction close, all winning bidders will pay the same price, which is the lowest successful bid.

Example: Dutch auction Blue has 2 items available. At the end of the auction period, 30 bids have been submitted. The top 2 bids are $3000 and $2900; the 2 winners each pay just $2900. All winning bidders will pay the same price, which may be equal to or less than the highest bid at the close of the auction, but never more.

By placing your bid you agree you are able and intend to purchase the item(s) should your bid be among the winning bids.

You are free to submit as many bids as they wish throughout the length of the auction.

Each bid submitted is recorded at the exact time it is received. If you are the low bidder and wish to increase your bid, simply submit your new bid - your earlier bid will be cancelled automatically. Please note, however, that if you bid again and are not the low bidder, you will be bidding for an additional item.

You can choose which type of auction you wish to run, when you list an item.
